Tatra mountain adventure

Friday 21st February was the day of our amazing tour to Zakopane and the Tatra mountains. I had researched this and considered doing it myself in the car but in the end I found it far better not having to worry about driving and leave it all up to somebody else!
So in the morning all we had to do was get up and do a short 5 minute stroll to Weilopole 2 which seemed to be the picking up point for hundreds people heading off for tours to Auschwitz, the Salt Mines and our Zakopane tour! We had booked on GetYourGuide for £147.53 and very clear instructions from the company with photo of our vehicle. Tiger sat in her Trunki BoostApak in the van but everybody else had normal seatbelts.
We drove for 1.5h and stopped off at Chochołów where we looked into some of the traditional houses before continuing onto Zakopane where we took the funicular railway (Gubałówka Hill Funicular) up (this is usually included in our ticket) and had lunch at the Restauracja Tarasy Gubałowka (£23) with gorgeous views of the Tatra mountains!
After having met up with everyone after descending, we got back in our minibus and did cheese tasting at Bacówka u Jacka. Tiger was asleep for this part! We then went onto the Chocholowska Thermal Baths (the largest thermal baths in Poland!) for two and a half hours. Not everybody in our group enjoyed this as it was super crowded and full of kids but with a 6 year old on my team anyway it was par for the course for us and we loved it!
Rested, showered and back in the minivan for the 1.5h drive back to Krakow. This was definitely where the benefit of the tour kicked in for me as I wouldn't have wanted to have driven back in the dark and after such a long day! We arrived back at (I think) around 20:00 by which time Tiger was asleep and grumpy but I did just about manage to get her off the bus and walking the five minutes back with a little effort. This really was a fabulous day out - highly recommended!
