Farewell Namibia

Our return flight was due to leave Windhoek until 19:55 so we had the whole day to play with on Saturday 19th April. I made sure we had a lazy lie in, before taking a taxi to the iFun park. This. This was was actually only 1km away so I guess technically walkable but it was pretty hot so we took a taxi. It was fairly deserted but we got our swimming costumes on and they switched the water on for us. It seemed very much like a place popular for children's parties and, of course, very child friendly so ticked the box for us!

Around from the water park, there was a go karting place which seemed to be jointly owned - Windhoek Go Karts. We had a five laps around the track for 120 NAD each (£6). This was super fun, and they also had a bar area to chill out in.

We taxii'd back to Arrebusch to get our bags and took another car to get back to Windhoek airport. Our return flight with Lufthansa again (code sharing) had the stop in Frankfurt so initially we we flew (in our pyjamas!) with Discover Airlines the 10.5 hours from Windhoek to Frankfurt leaving at 19:55 from Windhoek on Friday 19th April, and arriving in Frankfurt at 06:25 the next day.

In Frankfurt we had a bit of chill time before our Lufthansa flight on a little plane at 09:45 arriving into Gatwick North Terminal for 10:20 the next day, Saturday 20th April. Tiger slept ok on the plane, aided by headphones and her ipad. It's never easy on the long flights but we survived and it was considerably easier on the return leg than on arrival when we had landed in Botswana instead of Namibia!

Our April 2024 trip was finally over (sad face). We had an absolutely incredible time in Namibia. It was at times a bit expensive with the car hire and some of the accommodation but definitely worth it and such an adventure to be able to self drive the 4x4 with the rooftop tent. Maybe next time I'd be a bit more adventurous and camp some more but I felt we struck a good balance this time. Farewell Namibia!
