On Sunday 6th April, having picked up our 4x4 in Windhoek and met our new traveling companion, Ella from South Korea, we did a supermarket stop and then headed off for the 143km (3 hours) drive towards Namib Naukluft and to stay at Buellsport Guest Farm.
I had done all my bookings via their website and the price was N$ 4,720 (£199.45) for the two nights we would be spending there. As we had effectively picked up an extra passenger with Ella, she tried to book ahead too but was unable to and we decided to just figure things out when we got there. Well, this was quite interesting as we arrived about 18:00, seemingly unexpectedly but this was because I had initially given them the wrong dates before correcting myself. I also had an extra person and we had to discuss on the spot about sharing a room - much to the bemusement of the owner Johanna when we told her we had just met! In the end, it was fine though - we were three girls together and Ella took the smaller single bed pictured whilst Tiger and I had the double.
We didn't have any dinner that night as the cook was away but we had plenty of food from our supermarket shop! The next day, Tiger went off for a pony ride led by Johanna for N$ 300 (£12.50) around the farm which she loved!

After breakfast, we all went out in the 4x4 for a truly spectacular (and exciting) canyon drive/hike. This was the first time I had really put the 4x4 through its paces and it was incredible fun!
When we got back, we saw the horses again and then went for a circular walk with Ella and some other families who had arrived. This was quite something as it was literally pitch black by the time we returned for dinner so just a little hairy!
Dinner in the bush was just amazing, so atmospheric. I am so happy that we found Buellsport Guest Farm - after we had gotten over the initial surprise of our arrival it was incredible and there is so much to do there from hiking to horse riding. It is also a perfect stopover on the way to Seserium!
